RecipeConnect is a client application for Mealie, an open-source, self-hosted recipe manager. This policy explains what data the app handles and, just as importantly, what it does not.
RecipeConnect does not collect, transmit, or have any access to your data. The developer of RecipeConnect operates no servers and receives no information from your use of the app.
RecipeConnect connects directly from your device to a Mealie server that you provide the address for and that you (or someone you trust) control. All of your data — recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, household and user information — lives on that server, not with the developer of this app.
Your login credentials (API token, or username/password) are stored only in your device's Keychain, and are used only to authenticate directly with the Mealie server you configured. They are never sent anywhere else.
To make the app usable offline, RecipeConnect caches a copy of your recipes and queues shopping-list edits made without a connection, storing them locally in the app's private storage on your device (and, for widgets, in a storage area shared only between RecipeConnect and its own widget extension). This data is not accessible to the developer and is not transmitted anywhere except back to your own Mealie server once you're back online.
Cook Mode timers use local notifications and Live Activities to alert you when a timer finishes. These are generated and scheduled entirely on your device and are not sent through any server operated by the developer.
RecipeConnect does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services of any kind, and does not share data with any third party. The only network connection the app makes is to the Mealie server URL you configure.
RecipeConnect does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.
